👋 A quick word before you start

I built this tool myself, and I wanted to explain why. For a while I had been using another website to find album artwork. I actually knew who was behind it, so it was not a case of not trusting the site itself, but the homepage displayed a large photo of a blond man that had nothing to do with music or artwork, and every time I opened the site I found it more and more irritating.

Rather than keep putting up with something that annoyed me every time I used it, I decided to look into how these artwork finders actually work behind the scenes. It turns out the process is fairly simple: Apple's own public iTunes catalogue already provides artwork links, and by adjusting the size written into that link, you can request a larger or smaller version of the same image directly from Apple's servers.

Once I understood that, I realised there was no real need to keep using a site that got on my nerves, so I put together this version instead. There is no unusual branding, no strange imagery, and nothing about your search is stored or tracked anywhere by me. It is simply a straightforward way of finding album artwork and downloading it at whichever resolution you happen to need. I hope you find it useful.
